Breaking Ground

Breaking Ground

Finally. My dream is becoming a reality. I'm so excited to get this blog rolling and start sorting out all those ideas that have been bouncing around in my head for years. I want to believe that this blog will be perfect right out of the gate, but the reality is I'm only beginning. I find myself to be extremely passionate about several things (fashion, photography, interior design, gardening and music to name a few), but more often than not I have a difficult time sticking to one thing long enough to see it through. As a compromise to myself and all those reading, I want this blog to be ever-changing. Let's see where it goes.

Gone Flower picking

As the name Pike Petals suggests, flowers are a huge part of my theme here. In Seattle, we're known for our expansive flower market. People travel from all over the world just to see it! When I'm at the market picking out a bouquet, I'm reminded of how blessed I am to be so close to it every single day.

I hope to incorporate several elements of fashion and design within this space, as both of these topics are dear to my heart. There's certainly a reason why I'm a designer at a major fashion retailer! Fashion has always been a huge part of my life, often times my outfit will dictate the bouquet I select. I've found the perfect light pink wall down by the market, and it has become somewhat of a routine to photograph there because it creates the perfect backdrop for documentation!

Bringing bouquet home

I really enjoy styling the flowers that I bring home somewhere within a space. These lovelies took up residence on my bedside table next to one of my favorite Glassybaby tea light holders - this one's called Seattle Sunset.

A big kiss to my wonderful boyfriend Adam, he's been my go-to photographer for the past year and I couldn't do this without him! Thanks for always being patient as I art direct you for each and every shot.
