Wine, Please

Wine, Please

If there's one thing I know, it's that wine and candles go hand-in-hand. Better yet, make that wine scented candles and wine. Yes, you heard that right. During those cozy months of winter and fall, you'll find me on curled up on the couch enjoying a fine glass of red wine in the candlelight. Sounds romantic, right?

Nothing is more of a staple in our house than candles are. If we're at home, candles are most certainly burning. They give me all the cozy vibes. All my friends know about my candle closet –  I'm not ashamed to admit I live by the motto "you can never have enough candles"! These candles by Rewined are my latest additions. I'd seen them at West Elm about a year ago and have been curious about them ever since! It's such an intriguing concept to create candles around the scents of wine, but I love the idea behind their brand. Each of their candles are created out of hand-cut recycled wine bottles, use 100% natural soy wax and are custom blended with fragrances that mimic wine varietals. The packaging is so well done and you can tell that a lot of hard work and love went into creating each and every one.

I received three scents that are perfect for fall – Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and Spiced Cider, which is their fall seasonal scent. They're all so uniquely different and I am having a hard time picking a favorite. I've been burning them non-stop. Luckily with a burn time of 80 hours, I can enjoy them for quite some time! Black cherry and currant are the fresh fruit notes in the Cabernet, while background notes of smoke and toast round out this bold red. Pinot Noir is a very earthy, complex wine mimics the ground that produces it. Fresh fig and cranberry are rooted by the rustic aromas of leather and violet, finishing with hints of musky earth tones. Last but not least is Spiked Cider, which is sure to be a crowd pleaser this time of year. It's a rich, cozy blend of fresh apple, cinnamon, and clove, spiked with the deep, buttery aroma of dark rum. I'm so glad I was able to snag this one as it's only available in the fall!

Speaking of wine, I've got to tell you about one of my favorite wineries in Chelan, Washington. I've mentioned them here on Pike Petals before, and couldn't be happier to team up with them for this post! Nefarious Cellars has been named by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the top wineries to visit in Washington State, and I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area! They're perched high on a hillside and have a perfect view overlooking Lake Chelan from their patio area. I just visited last month; we always have to stop in for a glass of wine, it's non- negotiable!

Heather knew the way to my heart when she sent me two amazing bottles of red wine – a blend titled Spinner and their Estate Syrah – both of which I was already a huge fan of! Spinner is a combination of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Malbec. You can really make out the notes of fruit – especially blackberry and cassis – as well as vanilla. It's a beautiful red that's so easy to drink and pairs perfectly with just about everything. Another favorite of mine is their Syrah. Nefarious describes it as "elegant and pretty, with aromatics of cherry, roasted plum, and violet. It quickly turns to a brooding and masculine monster packed with tons of dark red fruit, elements of tobacco and spice and mid-palate intensity that is deeply alluring. This is the wine we take home at night."

If you're looking to set the mood for a cozy evening in, I highly recommend a large dose of candles and red wine this fall season! They're always included in my fool-proof plan for a night of relaxing. A lovely cheese plate doesn't hurt, either. Since it's October, I'd also suggest watching Hocus Pocus, too.

A huge thank you to Nefarious Cellars, Rewined & Bouqs Co. for partnering with me on this post!
