Merry and Bright: Lafco's Holiday Candles

Merry and Bright: Lafco's Holiday Candles

We all know I'm a candle hoarder. I'm obsessed and I'm not afraid to admit it! Especially when it comes to holiday scents. There's just something about the beautiful glow of a freshly-lit candle and the scent that envelops the room – it's my kind of therapy! Might be cheaper than therapy, too...

This holiday season Lafco released a limited edition collection of scents, and they were kind enough to send me a few! Lafco is a brand that I've lusted after for a while now; I've seen them in countless boutiques and always stop to sample the fragrances. The beautiful handblown glass vessels they're displayed in draw me in; it's quite the luxe finishing touch. The holiday collection candles are housed in beautiful jewel-toned glass with a sheer, shiny finish. They are absolutely stunning.

I couldn't wait to spend a cozy night in burning them! Cause, you know, the first time you burn a candle you have to let it burn for at least 2 - 4 hours! "Sorry, I can't come hang out, I'm burning my new Lafco candle right now..."

This company stands for a pure fragrance experience, meaning you can be confident that what you're burning not only looks, smells and feels good, but is also good for you. Essential oil based fragrances deliver a natural and true scent. Each candle is highly concentrated so the scent will fully and evenly fill any room. This is something that I love because I can't stand when I spend a lot of money on a candle only to light it and not be able to smell it unless I'm right next to it! Bring on the scent, baby!

Here are the candles I received, with descriptions per Lafco:

Winter BalsamA vibrant green earthy fragrance that captures the exhilarating aromatics of a winter forest. The opening notes are a blend of mint-infused eucalyptus, balsam fir needle, and oud wood. Sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver give a creamy texture to the heart, while incense, cedarwood and burnished amber create a warm and inviting dry down.

Crimson BerryCrisp lemon and orange create an inviting opening for this exhilarating scent inspired by shimmering red seasonal berries. Succulent cranberry and raspberry take center stage at the heart, while eucalyptus adds a refreshing undertone and vanilla brings a luscious sweetness to the finish.

Golden ChestnutA fresh aromatic blend of balsam, pine needles and exotic spices are highlighted by tangy lemon zest for a seasonal embrace. Warm chestnuts and hazelnut cream create a tantalizing presence at the heart, while white cedar, patchouli and vetiver provide depth. Vanilla sugar adds an extra sweet sparkle.

Pumpkin PomanderAn inviting mélange of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and clove are accentuated with mandarin for sparkle. In the heart a floral bouquet is created with heliotrope, muguet and lavandin. White pumpkin, vanilla and patchouli infuse a silky earthy texture to the base.

I knew I would love Winter Balsam and Crimson Berry right off the bat. They've been on repeat since I got them and I'm almost out of Winter Balsam! I'm going to be so sad when it's gone, but the beautiful thing is I can reuse the gorgeous glass vessel. Golden Chestnut and Pumpkin Pomander were my two dark horses. I'm drawn to more fresh, woody scents, but surprisingly enough the pumpkin and chestnut notes weren't too overwhelming amongst the rest. I love the sheer, golden shine of the glass on Golden Chestnut.

I can't wait to show you more from Lafco as we head into the new year! Go and get candle happy on their site – it's super easy to find the right scent for you with their fragrance finder and the ability to search by type of note. Thanks, Lafco, for making my holiday season a little bit brighter (and shinier)!
