Woodland Sunsets & Floral Lace
Words don't accurately describe this scene, but I'll give it a try. Friday night. Golden light. The scent of sweet peonies. Silence of the impending night. Sometimes a little drama is necessary to set the tone for a dress and a bouquet such as this.
I was incredibly lucky to join once again with the talented Meridith of Verde & Co to create the most stunning arrangement to pair with this lace floor length party dress from StyleWe. The combination is both feminine and dramatic. The bouquet itself is so delicate and light; yet the dress emulates a sense of moodiness in tone and style. Each and every floral element compliments the dress perfectly.
I wish I had more places to wear a piece like this. The dress begs for a night out. There is a detachable black shell underneath the lace, and the see-through effect is downright sexy. Detailed floral embroidery adorns this gown in a way that makes me feel like I fell asleep in a field of wild flowers and woke up with them all over me!
I'm convinced more people should randomly carry bouquets as accessories. For the duration of this shoot I got compliments left and right on it. I am obsessed with this arrangement. It's delicate yet wild all at once. Purple acacia, lisianthus, light pink stock, coral roses, white peonies, bunny tail grass and tweedia blend together in what I can only call floral magic. I'm always curious who came up with the names of floral varieties, some of them are oh so fun.
This shoot took place somewhere seemingly lost in nature, yet within the city. Lincoln Park in West Seattle is the perfect escape from the concrete jungle. It's a 135 acres park with sweeping views of the Puget Sound, plenty of tall trees and grassy fields. Adam and I often come here to walk the perimeter along the beach. It's also the perfect location for picnics and sunset viewings. We arrived about an hour before sunset, and I'm so happy with the wide variety of shots we got.
By the end of the shoot, I ditched my 5 inch platform heels and ran barefoot through a field carpeted in wild daisies! The cool grass felt good on my feet.
A huge thank you to Meridith of Verde & Co. and StyleWe for making this shoot a dream come true, and to my amazing Adam for capturing it. It's truly a blessing to create content that is inspiring and beauty for beauty's sake. This bouquet and the sunlit hours won't last forever, yet their lasting impression will forever linger.
