Blue Skies and Grape Vines

This past weekend I didn't go bouquet hunting, but grape hunting! Adam and I escaped from the city and went across the mountains to do one of my favorite activities - drink wine! While city life in Seattle has many perks day to day, sometimes it's nice to slow down the pace and sneak away for some wide open spaces. Lake Chelan is such a gorgeous location for relaxation, endless wine and top-notch views.

It's amazing that I can cross a few mountains to the east and our lovely state of Washington completely transforms. The weather was absolutely gorgeous in Chelan, with temperatures in the upper 80's, if not higher. As soon as I saw this dress I knew it would be perfect for the vineyards - it's easy, breezy and the off the shoulder cut gives it a little romance. The dress is by Topshop, and for the majority of the day I paired it with some laser cut wedges by Charles by Charles David. I've found wedges to be the type of heel that I can wear for hours, which is ideal when you're bouncing from vineyard to vineyard. When they finally had reached their limit, I traded them in for my trusty pair of copper Birkenstocks and instantly my look became a little bit more casual.

Thanks to a friendly neighbor across the street who walked over to snap a picture of us! Always happy to be adventuring with this guy by my side.

'Pool Party' by China Glaze is my go-to polish all summer long. It's so neon that not even the camera can touch on how bright it is. I would highly suggest opting for the gel version, as I've found that the regular polish chips extremely easily.

One of my favorite wineries to visit in Chelan is Nefarious CellarsFood & Wine Magazine named them one of the top wineries to visit in Washington State, and I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area! They are perched high on a hillside and have a perfect view overlooking the lake from their patio area. My favorite taste of the weekend was their rosé, but they have several other amazing red and white options as well. I normally stick to the sweet white wines, or hummingbird food, as Adam would call them. Over the past year I've been attempting to try different types of wine and work on expanding my palette. Still working on it...

So lucky that I was able to cross paths with my family this weekend while they were out touring colleges for my sister. It was great spending time with them and enjoying the beautiful weather! Now we just have to wait for my sister to turn 21 in a couple of years so she can join in the wine tasting fun!
