Happy Monday, lovelies! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start! It's going to be a busy week here on Pike Petals, and I'm so excited about the stories I've got to share! I'm kicking it off with Sangre de Fruta, a brand inspired by beauty rituals that date back to the days of the ancient Egyptians. Cleopatra, known for her surpassing beauty, would use essential oils and botanical butters to protect her skin and enhance her sensual spirit. I've been using these products for a few weeks now, and I'm in love with how they make me feel.
Our beauty routines should be so much more than the benefits of the product, but also about the experience we have when we use them. It should be a deeper connection with the senses – I only use products that smell and feel good on my skin. Sangre de Fruta means “blood of fruit”, or fruit blood. The name represents the essence of fruit, and the unknown essence that is at the heart of all things fragrant, beautiful, edible, and enjoyable.
First impressions are super important, so let's talk about how luxe this black and white packaging is! These jars and bottles are weighted glass containers which instantly ring as glam. I love when a product feels substantial. In the end though, it's what's inside that counts. All Sangre de Fruta Botanical products are made by hand, and free of harmful ingredients, full of active botanical ingredients and never tested on animals.
The brand’s focus is on texture, something totally evident in their Rose No 1 Botanical Body Cream. This rose scent is heaven, and the whipped-butter consistency is so indulgent. Every application feels like a super special treat for my skin. I like to apply it liberally after a nice hot shower. It's such a relaxing experience.
Sangre de Fruta uses Rose Otto oil, which is cultivated in mountainous regions in Bulgaria. It has to be picked right after the morning dew and distilled immediately to maximize oil yield. Beyond the roses' symbolism of love and purity, the essential oil is known to lift the heart and ease the nervous system.
Psyche Flower Nectar Face Oil is designed for an array of skin types, making it perfect for my combination skin. Psyche, the goddess of the soul inspired this blend which aims to heal your skin and mood. I put a few drops on my face in the evening – it’s deeply moisturizing and rejuvenating without being heavy. I can really identify the frankincense and English lavender notes.
Mille Fleurs body serum literally smells like a bouquet of flowers! I use this tonic after a long day in the sunshine, or if I'm feeling super dry. My skin literally drinks it in!
Thanks so much to Allison, founder of Sangre de Fruta, for letting me experience your brand firsthand! Be sure to check out all of the offerings her beautiful brand has, each product is so unique in both scent and healing power. I especially love that the site lists all the ingredients and benefits behind them. It's super important to know what you're putting on your body!
